About Us

In October 2004 I started throwing clay on the potter’s wheel. I’ve always loved to cook and entertain so the thought of making bowls and serving platters seemed so enticing. My husband, Joe, helped me create a studio in the basement of our home. Initially my kiln was upstairs in the garage but recently during a remodel we were able to create a kiln room off of the basement so now all of my operations are moved to one central location. All of the my ceramics (unless specified) are dishwasher, microwaveable, and oven safe (heat starting in a cool oven up to 375˚)

The pottery I make is stoneware that is fired to a medium fire. This produces a very strong and durable piece. Because of the durability of the pieces, my pottery is not intended to sit, unused in your china cabinet. Use them often, on a daily basis and especially for special occasions. I love to use vibrant, bright glazes on my work. I have received many comments that my work is fresh and different. I’ll take that as a compliment! When your friends and family receive Cracked Thumb Pottery for a gift they will be pleasantly surprised by the contemporary, modern look of the vibrant glazes.

Cracked Thumb Pottery is the perfect addition to anyone’s kitchen so give this beautiful pottery as a gift or collect it for yourself. With a focus on functionality, I design each piece with the intent of maximizing usability. I love to cook so it’s incredibly fun to be able to serve delicious creations in beautiful serving ware such as platters, dip sets and bowls.  Cracked Thumb Pottery is also available in dinnerware sets. Dinnerware sets include a dinner plate, soup bowl or salad bowl, a bread plate, and a dessert cup.

Looking for that perfect gift idea? Cracked Thumb Pottery will be loved whether you’re giving pottery for a wedding, birthday, anniversary, or housewarming. Each piece is personalized with my initials and the year it was made as a finishing touch. If you need a last minute gift just stop by any of the retail locations listed crackedthumbpottery.com/locations-i-2.html or give me a call and I can conveniently ship it.
